Summer Reading Program @ PMPL
The Summer Reading Program is a great time for children, teens and parents to join in lots of fun at the library with programs and prizes for kids who love reading! Summer Reading Program is also designed to help sustain your child's reading skills throughout the summer so he or she can start the next school year on the right foot. Registration begins on June 13 @ the library.
Parents who read to their children and small children who are reading to themselves can register for the SRP at the library. YA/teens can register from any location through links on our website on the YA page, and then post the books and number of pages read. Please ask if you have any questions.
For the 2011 "One World, Many Stories" Summer Reading Program, PMPL is very excited that we have programs and events with the Scranton Wilkes-Barre Yankees, the Pocono Raceway, and lots of other excellent storytellers, magicians, musicians and interesting folks. Just ask for more details!
Please note that our Kids Arts & Crafts Hour is for kids ages 7 & up and is ONLY ONE TIME PER WEEK ON WEDNESDAYS at 2:00 pm beginning on July 7. Registration is required and meeting times are limited to 20 kids. Participating kids should have basic craft skills. Please call if you have any questions.
Day care centers are not permitted to attend our regularly scheduled storyhours, Kids Arts & Crafts, and some indoor special events at the library because of our severe space limitations and because of craft & activity preparation. However, PMPL will accomodate day care centers for their own events at the library, and can give permission for day care centers to register to attend special events held outdoors during the summer. Programs for day care centers need to be scheduled one month in advance. Please contact the library for more information. (570-894-8860)
