We are offering an assortment of new programs at the library for our adult patrons starting this summer. Our goal is to provide regular programs featuring arts, crafts, personal well-being, technology, health, and other seasonal activities that keep the mind and body invigorated through learning, and of course, lots of reading. Click on the monthly links above to find out more and see our schedule of programs. Our most current information is also located in our newsletter and on our facebook page. We ask that you register by calling the Reference Desk at 570-894-8860 X 4.

  • Monday June 13 @ 6:00 - 7:00 pm - Container Gardening with Master Gardener Ruth Berke. Learn about special plants, flowers and vegetables that can be grown in containers from a Master Gardener from the Penn State Extension. Registration required!

  • Tuesday June 14 @ 10:00 am until 12:00 noon - Still Life Art Club ~ join us as a group for everyone to work on the same stil life composition in one sitting. For artists with basic and advanced skills. Our own artist, Bev Abel, will guide the group. Limited space. The Library will provide some drawing and painting supplies in a variety of mediums, but artists can bring their own gear if they choose. Painters who want to work in oils must bring drop clothes, oderless turp and will not be allowed to clean brushes at the library. Most mediums are welcome - please no soft pastel. Registration required!

  • Wednesday June 15 @ 6:00 - 7:30 pm - Guitar Workshop for Beginners ~ a workshop with Mr. Joe featuring basic skills for beginner players. Please bring your own guitar - electric will not be able to plug in. A keyboard is also available. Participants will learn about the minor penatonic scale in a variety of genres. Come along for this great time to learn new things and learn from each other. Very popular - space is limited. Registration required!

  • Monday June 20 @ 6:00 - 7:30 pm - Adults in the Arts ~ Jewelry Bead Workshop with Susan Field. Join us for the return of this very popular program. We will make a necklace with beads and charms. Ms. Field says: Let is Bead! Age 16 and up. Space is limited. Registration required!

  • Tuesday June 21 @ 10:00 am - Tuesday Table Top Time at 10! Featuring table games, activities, coloring pages, puzzles & more! Join your friends and make new ones in this fun and engageing time at the library. Registration required!

  • Wednesday June 22 @ 6:00 - 7:30 pm - NEW - Graphic Novel Club with Mr. Gino ~ join the group for a lively discussion of your favorite comics and graphic novels. Bring your favorite and tell us about it - whether the story line or art or characters or whatever! Meet new enthusiasts and learn about other novels you may not know. This is a family friendly environment - all ages welcome. Registration required!

  • Thursday June 23 @ 10:30 - 11:30 am - Meditation Classes with Ananda certified instructor, Bev Abel. Join us for this very popular program to learn meditation techniques that will ease the mind and body. There is some very light stretching and exercise. Participants do not need any prior training and can sit in chairs or on the floor. Registration required!

  • Wednesday July 6 @ 6:00 - 7:30 pm - Adults in the Arts ~ DIY Mod Podge Decorative Hangers with Susan Field. Join Ms. Field to learn about using Mod Podge to decorate anything! Our program features wooden hangers. Age 16 and up. Space is limited. Registration required!
